I would have thought some would have been excited that Kalani finally went out and hired a Bronco Mendenhall product instead of somebody from his inner circle.

I would have been excited if he didn't, at the same time, get rid of probably our best position coach on the staff (who was also great under Bronco)

From what I've heard, Kaufusi is leaving of his own accord. He's ready to drop a few gears in his work life and make room for his wife to be all in as the new mayor of Provo.

Who said Kalani fired him?

I didn't say fired, because I don't know that he was fired... but I have been involved in "managing" more than one person "out the door" so to speak. That's what this felt like to me (from afar) So I was assuming that that was the scenario and why I said "got rid of."
