Is Kalani finally getting his pick of OC?
For two years the question regarding the offense is who hired the staff?
Did Sitake pick Ty and all the other inexperienced and unqualified assistants (Mahe, Empey and Cahoon)? Or was Ty hired by Holmoe and Ty made the call to hire the inexperienced and unqualified assistants?
Either Sitake put together the staff or Ty put the staff together. If Ty put it together, it was an epic fail and by replacing him could be the key to fixing it.
But if Sitake put the staff together then he's not going to fix it.

Oh sure we will ... next year at this time.
Seriously, I've been under the somewhat-uninformed-opinion that TH hired KS and Ty, and KS did the rest ... there was something about how those positions were filled that caused me to think that. Maybe part of it was that Ty wasn't on the "Friends and Family" plan of hiring ... when the others (except Kaufusi) seemed to be

This has been the hardest season I've faced as a fan where the expectations totally crashed and burned. I believe most people like me become fans because they want to feel the warm and fuzzies (w&f's) that come from winning when you're not attending a sporting event because you have family ties. There is a certain chemical euphoria your body feels when you have a meaningful win that leaves you wanting to feel that again. I didn't feel it once in the four (4) wins we did manage this year.
I don't know that I care about how the coaching staff comes together, I simply want someone to do it right. I still find it hard to believe that the coaching staff was the major "fixable" portion of the problem and I think TD should have been given an additional year. You just can't effectively evaluate the situation when you have so many injuries take their toll, but it's been awhile since I can truly say that I've been dazzled by the play calling at BYU. Anae was very frustrating for me to watch, but somehow it worked. I simply believe that a head coach needs to have the final word in who he calls on to assist him and needs the OC & DC to make sure their respective coaches are pulling their weight. We had a staff that was not as experienced as you would normally like and that did cause me concern. But still, was it their fault or the coaches, I don't know.
