High-Water Mark for Offensive Ineptitude

Post by snoscythe »

BYU scored just 10 points against UMass. At home. With 7 of those coming in desperation-mode.

The only team to score fewer against UMass this season?

Trick question -- no one has.

Hawai'i scored 38 @ UMass.
Coastal Carolina scored 38 at home.
Old Dominion scored 17 at UMass.
Temple scored 29 at home.
Tennessee scored 17 at home.
Ohio (not state---just Ohio) scored 58 at UMass.
Georgia Southern scored 20 at UMass.
Appalachian State scored 27 at UMass.
Miss St scored 34 at home.
Maine scored 31 at a neutral location.

BYU, on Senior Day in its final home game of the season, put up a measly 10.

BYU is probably the only team that UMASS was more physical than on both sides of the ball. This team is embarrassing. In all my years watching BYU football I have never been on the fire the coach bandwagon, even with Crowton, I figured that he just needed one more year to get it turned around. In hindsight after finding out how he ran the program I realized I was wrong. This is the worst BYU has ever played and it needs to be fixed and can't be fixed by these inept coaches.

i think Low water Mark is probably a better metaphor. The lake has been drained.
Those stats are so low it defies all reasonable explanation. This must have been brought to THs attention. This decision to hire this coaching staff Is on the verge of going down as one of the absolute worst coaching decisions. And BYU is one rape gate away from Kalani eclipsing Crowton as the worst coach. Shakespearean tragedy-like sad.

If the entire coaching staff gets canned so soon then that makes Holmoe look bad so I'm guessing that it's going to take something beyond a horrible record to get some changes. I don't wish for another rape gate but unfortunately I think it will take something close to that. Maybe the low GPA will do it?

It is going to take a fan revolt to do it. Fans need to stop going to the games and buying season tickets. Boosters need to tell the AD that they won't financially support BYU anymore if a change isn't made.

Does that include not watching them on TV as well? Would that do anything to impact the current TV deal or the next one?
