My understanding was that it was boosters who wanted Bronco gone, not administration. They were putting pressure on Holmoe to upgrade and try to get to the next level.

After Bronco left, Holmoe gave them everything they wanted....

Between the Emery scandal and this... It sounds like BYU boosters are LAME!

Is GA Tech still running the option? Bronco Mendenhall has always been a genius at coaching against the option. I'm surprised it was a close game.

Yeah, but 2 wins without Bronco is better than 6 wins with him! Or something like that.

From what I have heard (old priest quorum advisor is related to folks among BYU sports top brass), the boosters (Vivant and Nu Skin guys) wanted Bronco gone, not necessarily Holmoe. Without booster money, Holmoe doesn't have a football team.

NuSkin guys are leading Cougar doners who are calling the shots? We’re toast.

Agreed. Are they also the ones paying for emery to get into amusement parks? what a bunch of dopes.

No, that's 41 year old travel agents still working for their dad.

Even BYU's booster issues are lame this year.

Sounds like the boosters want a coach who will be their "friend". Someone they can pal around with.
You know what happens when a coach tries to please everyone...

Personally, I don't care if the BYU head coach has the personality of a dead dog. I don't care what fans or boosters he offends in the process. Actually, the more people he offends by letting them know how stupid they are (me included) the more I'll like him actually. Just win games and keep the standards that BYU expects of it's coaches and players.

Bronco was very close to ideal for me. Sure, I would have loved to have won more games. Wasted timeouts and occasional terrible decisions irritated my vast football IQ. But... this year has SUCKED.
