BYU Receivers don't want to work with Ross Apo
So Ross Apo does coaching of receivers and has offered to spend his free time doing free work with the BYU receivers, but I guess they aren't interested.

That's also an indictment on Ben Cahoon.

Nice for Ross to offer! I think there is a lot of help out there for the team ... but they have to accept it. Many former players would be willing to step in and be involved in one way or another and help the team succeed. There have been years that former players didn't really feel welcome and part of the program (one of the mistakes of Bronco) ... but those days are over. Now it is more an issue of time, and desire for the players.

Re: BYU Receivers don't want to work with Ross Apo
Is the problem with our receives not wanting to work with Ross Apo that Ross was an especially tenacious receiver while here, or an overachiever, or what? What about Ross' time with the Cougs should lead us to believe that he has something of substance to give?
I don't have a problem with receivers who are struggling to limit the amount of coaching that they receive. If they are struggling while under the direction of one voice, adding another voice - one with no real coaching experience, and no demonstrated history of toughness or tenacity doesn't seem to me to be the best step forward

I've held the same opinion of Apo. Recently learned he was pretty banged up while at BYU, don't know how much of that can be attributed to how he played, but I appreciate him going out there and giving it the old college try.ABYUFAN wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 11:56 am Is the problem with our receives not wanting to work with Ross Apo that Ross was an especially tenacious receiver while here, or an overachiever, or what? Before the season started, I would probably have thought this was pretty significant. Now I don't. I am of the opinion that the problem is with the captain of the ship. The shipmates, whomever they may be would not be able to save this. It is much worse than one position group, even though that position group is still horrible.

Cahoon doesn't want Apo near his receivers because there is a legit chance Apo would do a better job coaching them.
