Troy Warner Out For Season

Post by byufan4ever »

In other depressing news I just read that Troy Warner will most likely be out for the rest of the season with the leg injury he got at ECU.

Not to be a sad-Sam, but if it really is that bad, I wouldn't be surprised if he transferred and used his transfer/RS year to heal up. With big bro graduating and the Stinktake ship sinking, why would he stay?

Very plausible.

The secondary was one of the worst in the country (ratings over 100+) and that was when he was healthy. We all had some serious questions about Nick Howell, but it's pretty obvious that he was a better secondary coach than what we have now.

Yeah I saw him get beat a few times this year, but our defense gets almost zero pressure on the QB and it seems as if we're just in our base package 95% of the time.

I agree. The secondary isn't awesome but it is hard to cover when the line gets no pressure on the opposing QB and your D coach calls 4 man rushes all game and leaves you on an island.

Well, last year we got good pressure from the DLine and had great linebacker play.

What did our coaching staff do to capitalize on those strengths? They moved the Dline coach to the Linebackers, and the LB coach to the Dline, cuz..............yeah.

And now we have average LB play and zero pressure from the Dline (that is supposed to be more talented that what we had last year).

So yeah, that's a credit to our HC and DC.

1- Troy Warner is no Fred Warner.

2- Our DBs may not be great, but IMO they're better than our DL and LBs.

Derp. I thought this was about Fred Warner in my previous comment.
