Then why transfer to BYU? Does not make sense.

I graduated in 2007 and didn't see any major problems at that time. But like others have said, if you are seeking out a certain element, you are sure to be able to find some out of 30,000+ students.

Maybe he knew his shot at RB wasn't going to happen at Wisc. There could be a ton of reasons.

Probably for a couple of reasons. Like stated above, he probably knew he wouldn't play as much as he wanted at Wisconsin. Second, I think there are a lot of Polynesian players who want to play for Sitake.

Gary Anderson originally recruited Tulotau to Wisconsin. Tulotau after his mission then decided to go to BYU. As reported by the Deseret News on November 22, 2016:
" Tulotau told the Deseret News that a combination of Andersen not being there and some uncertainty about qualifying academically are the reasons he’s now looking elsewhere."(emphasis added)
Like many of Gary Anderson's recruits to Wisconsin, Tulata'u couldn't qualify at Wisconsin which (along with Northwestern and Purdue) has higher admission requirements for athletes than the BIG10 minimums. But he was accepted at BYU.

AFR had a good review and I think I concur with them. This is a problem of team leadership in just about all facets. Logan and Nixon I think hit it on the head. Pretty much nobody is stepping forward and demanding each player step up and be responsible for themselves and for the team.

I think Ula transferred here because he was still on his "mission high". It was the environment that he wanted and maybe thought it would insulate him. Unfortunately he was caught with some of it. I don't see any charges of him using it but I bet he comes clean on if he did or not. I think if he had planned to "party" after his mission he would have gone to Utah to avoid the HC.

Yes, this.

We don't know what will happen to Ula, short-term nor long-term. I really hope the best for him. He's a talented kid who made a mistake. I hope he learns from it ... and I hope he's back in the future.

Tennessee is currently running a cleaner program than BYU. Coaches knew about the drugs for 2 weeks with nothing being done.

Bare minimum he's done for the rest of the year. Right? I could suspending for a half if he had a drink at a party. But marijuana's not even legal in utah, is it?
