If the Church is serious about using football as a marketing tool, then they need the football team playing and winning on the largest stage possible. To do that, they need to spend some cash on a legit coaching staff. There is plenty of LDS talent out there. We just have to be willing to pay for it.
I spoke with Bronco after a fireside in Oregon. I complimented him on the moral strength of his players and what an example that is to the world. Bronco said "none of that works if we don't win".

Losing football games by the margins we are losing is not a marketing tool.

First, anyone who wants to return hat-in-hand and tail between their legs to the Mountain West, where we have to deal with Hair Thompson and play Wyoming every year, needs to put on a dunce cap and go stand in the corner. And who gives a flying rat's yewt about getting another MWC title? Or going to the Las Vegas Bowl for the billionth time?

Second, those who have rushed to deliver their verdict that we would be better off with Bronco (long term) need to back up.

Third, as abysmal as this season is, it's still too early to just fire everybody and start over again. Let Sitake make whatever moves he feels he needs to in the off season while letting him know (as if he already doesn't) that we will need drastic improvement across the board next season. If we have another abysmal season like this one, he deserves to be fired. But at least getting more Ws than Ls will buy him a 4th season, provided he understands there will need to be even more improvement then as he and his staff will no longer have the excuse of being new and they will have mostly "their" players.
