Poll: I honestly believe Kalani Sitake is ______

Post by hawkwing »

I've heard a number of people say "I honestly believe Kalani Sitake is the right guy to be the head coach at BYU." I've also heard a few others say, "I honestly don't believe Kalani Sitake knows what he's doing as a head coach."

What do you believe?

If you believe whole heatedly that he is the best possible head coach for BYU what are your reasons? If you believe he isn't, why not? Lets list all the reasons out in one place.

Also, for those who are in doubt, what did you believe and what has made you question?

I don't know if he is the best. This season hasn't been a good look for him. I don't know if BYU can do any better though. I'm definitely not qualified to answer this question.

He is not the best choice and I have made my reasons pretty clear in other threads/posts.

The question is: Is Sitake the best that BYU can get. If choices A/B/C all refuse to come then D is the best you can do...

He came to BYU with a lot of fanfare, promises of great recruiting, a personality that is great, and had a good first season. But the wheels came off this season. It isn't just one thing, or one position group, and that speaks to coaching. When a team struggles this bad, and players who had been great (think of Tanner and Squally) are struggling horribly, the chemistry is all wrong ... and that points to the head coach. The head coach has to be able to control/manage the coaches below him, and pull the team together under a single vision. Greatness comes through in adversity ... I haven't seen it with Kalani this year, but I still hope it is there.

It isn't there. If we are to go by what we have seen publicly, he has no idea how to handle this. He has called out the offense, he has called out the offensive coaching, he has called out the players all publicly. Funny how the defense hasn't been called out publically though since it is run by his buddy and yet the defense has sucked just about as much as the offense this year. I just don't think he is the right guy for the job, if BYU can't get better, we might as well stop playing football.

I wasn't excited when he was first hired. I wanted to be wrong. I am willing to still give him the benefit of the doubt, but boy this team is awful awful awful...

He came to BYU because Holmoe knew he would come to BYU and would be an easy sell and would come relatively cheap.

He isn't the right choice. The results speak for themselves.

I have a hard time naming one thing he's done this season that's been effective this season. It's been an unceasing parade of errors.
