Great news Cougar fans, Tristen Hoge, transfer from Notre Dame is getting an extra year of eligibility after transferring to BYU.

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that he can't play this year, but will be able to play 3 years starting from next year.

No, he can't play this year. He is sitting out for NCAA transfer rules. I believe he is expected to take over for Tejan Koroma at C next year.
