Also a big difference at QB. Tyler Huntley is much more athletic than Tanner Mangum, has a much stronger arm and has real speed when he runs. Yes, he had much, much better protection than Mangum but also more natural talent resulting in 27/36 for 300 yards and no interceptions.

Probably why Tyler Mangum didn't even make the team.

LOL. Didn't the TV show his name as Tyler Mangum at one point?

My position. I want BYU to win. I have defended BYU and stood by them thru thick and thin. I do not attack and ridicule the coaching staff. I do not attack and ridicule the players.

I feel that hyper critical fans need to grow up or go find another team. BYU is not elite or a P5 team. Period.

I have complete confidence in the AD Tom Holmoe, HC Kalani Sitake, Ed Lamb, Ty Detmer, Ilaisa Tuiaki, etc. etc. - to do all they can to help BYU win. Does that mean they will make all the right decisions 100%. No. No one does except God himself.

Do you fit yourself into the category of God and being able to make all the right decisions all the time? I would suspect not. But perhaps you do.

I'm tired of complainers that think the answer is to keep firing coaches every time BYU fails to measure up to your over inflated, hyper-expectations. News flash - BYU is not elite. News flash - LSU and Utah are very good programs. Wisconsin is a very good program. BYU is not.

So all you that have all the answers, get working on your resumes and submit them to Kalani Sitake. I'm sure he will be grateful to you.

I'll tell you who else did not bring their A game and it was ESPN. The announcers were bored, uninformed, and off much of the evening. I tried listening to KSL but it was not simulcast to the TV. I hope ESPN didn't pay Tuberville too much for that "commentary."

Curious what the WR/DB talent gap would look like if we switched OL and DL with Utah.

At least we had the better Center.

A look at BYU's future schedule indicates that BYU wants to be a P-5 level program since it is increasing the number of P-5 teams on the schedule:
2018 (5 P-5 teams):
@ Arizona
Cal
@ Wisconsin
@ Washington
@ Utah

2019 (4 P-5 teams so far, 1 additional game to be scheduled)
Utah
@ Tennessee
USC
Washington
AAC opponent in Hawaii Bowl

2020 (6 P-5 teams)
@Utah
Michigan State
@Arizona State
@Minnesota
Missouri
@ Stanford

The question is: will BYU increase coaches salaries and make the other commitments it takes to be at this level?

Really enjoyed your posts, Woody! I agree that BYU needs to decide if it is going to try and play P5 ball, and adjust the rest of its program accordingly. If not, come out and have the guts to tell us all that BYU football is not about "keeping up with the Jones" and that we are proud to be "who we are", and get back in the MWC.

In the meantime, we can win a few of these P5 games, right? :)

Last time I checked the AAC isn't a P-5 conference unless you mean ACC but I don't think the ACC has a tie in with the Hawaii Bowl.
