Is it possible that Norm Chow would be willing to take work as an offensive coordinator? Obviously he wasn't good as a HC, but maybe as an OC.
Dude is retired and really been there, done that. We gotta stop living in the past as a fan base.....

The comment was TIC, but what BYU needs to do is make a list of all the top OC's from the Sunbelt, MAC, and FCS schools and determine which one is an up and coming mover and shaker. Get someone who is willing to use BYU as a 4 or 5 year stint to catapult themselves into a HC job somewhere.

Like a dog turning back to it's vomit. You might want to wander over to the Virginia threads and see what they think of Anae.

We weren't wrong to let him go the first time. There is a reason that no one besides Bronco (An undeniable historically bad evaluator of coaching ability) has wanted him.

Ty's offense will work, but not with Ana's go fast go hard pansy Olineman. We need serious offensive lineman, not converted tight ends. Ty's offense is the exact right thing for BYU and it will work for BYU's historical recruiting.

The reason BYU is struggling right now is because of Anae and his offensive line recruits from 2-3 years ago, that were evaluated on running ability and length, and can't block the man in front of them, no matter how many starts you put under their belt. We are losing the battle in the trenches, that is Anaes fault. We did just fine for 30 years sending lineman to the NFL before he got here. Since him, nobody.

There, I said it.

Anyone wishing we had Bronco and Anae back needs a swift hard kick in the nuts.

I don't wish we had them back. We were going no where with them. But, Detmer and the rest of the former players turned coaches aren't getting it done.

We knew Anae was bad. Detmer, this far, is worse.

Taysom and Tanner looked awesome under Anae, with Anae's oline. Detmer simply has no clue what he's doing.

Not to mention that Anae had good success coaching in Arizona.

I think ppl forget Anae had some very prolific offenses while at BYU. Wasnt the best, but far from the worst.

Anae's offenses were almost always in the top 20 in the nation. BYU went from top 20, to mid 60s last year to 120th so far this year. It's been a very bad drop. Only 5 teams in the modern era of NCAA football (post 1972ish) have had a game in which they failed to cross the 50 yard line.

And LSU was one of them.

Let's see, Ty Detmer played QB for 4 years at D1 school BYU. While there, during his Junior year he had one of the greatest years of any QB in NCAA history. He set 42 NCAA records and tied 5 others.

Upon Detmer's graduation, he had set an NCAA record for the highest passer rating - 162.7. (Won't mention he finished his college career holding 59 NCAA records).

What D1 college did you play football at? Were you a QB at a D1 school? How many NCAA records did you set? (Note - we're not even mentioning his Heisman trophy).

Let's see - Ty Detmer then played in the NFL for 14 years.

What NFL team did you play for?

But you know best, and Ty Detmer "has no clue what he's doing." Got it.
