Predicts Dec. 27 Independence Bowl Pittsburgh vs. BYU
Independence is ACC vs SEC. CUSA already has a contract if one of those fail to fill the slot.

Sweet we are bowl free agents this year. ESPN has guaranteed that we will be in a bowl. We will have the suspense of not knowing where we are going and possibly playing into a better bowl if we do well.

I hope this goes well and we do it again in future years. I think we can get into better bowls this way.

Same. I'd rather be a bowl free agent and not know till the end Vs being locked into some crappy bowl. It would be really hard to keep BYU out (unless California is calling the shots) simply because of the following and press that comes with BYU playing in a bowl.

let's hope the P5 teams do not fill their bowls and maybe the Cal schools can't go to Texas.

Sounds like we are a free agent next year too.

So if BYU were bowl eligible it would have been the armed forces bowl vs Army, the Heart of Dallas bowl vs CUSA, or an outside shot at the Texas bowl vs the B12 (if LSU somehow sneaks into a NY6 game). Foster Farms would not be possible since the MW has a backup deal if the B1G doesn't fill the slot.

Oh well.

Have to say, a bowl game with army would have been a lot of fun.

I would have enjoyed a bowl game with Army. I think TH should try to get the service academies scheduled ...
