This makes the most sense. ESPN has a relationship with every P5 conference. That is not the case with Fox, or any other network. We often use ESPN to meet our scheduling needs.Fido wrote:Holmoe's comments in those articles don't sound like he is out trying to bid networks against each other for BYU's contract. Who else is (1) going to put as much $$ in BYU's pockets, and (2) give them the exposure that BYU wants more than $$?
Will Fox, NBCSN, CBSCS, Comcast, or anyone else deliver the same amount of nationally broadcast games and help facilitate big games at neutral sites?
I have a hard time seeing any other broadcast partner who brings everything to the table that ESPN does.
I think the next contract will be more lucrative than the first, but not as eye-popping as we might have hoped for a couple years ago.
