BYU football: Players classified as university employees by NLRB?

What are the ramifications of this? Most of the private schools are P5. I would not be surprised to see some of those teams unionize like at Northwestern. If they did at BYU or a G5 school I can see the school closing the program.

I think this would be an issue if there was an adversarial relationship between players and the institution. I don't really see that at BYU but maybe it exists under the surface. I agree that it would probably spell the end of athletics.
