Thanks Mars! You should send to Didk Harmon/press.

And boy doesn't Kilani look like a bad choice?
No less than two endorsements that he has previously worked with; Approval by one of the 12 apostles and the Board of Trustees and University president; The most support by BYU football alums in the last 50 years; the first true BYU football alum, and 95% of the Fan base; a better recruiter than the predecessor,-- with the shelves full of talent (thanks Bronco!!!) with more talent waiting to jump on; and yes, the first Poly HC!
Now make some great hires and lets keep this thing rolling into a P5 invite!
Go Kilani! Go Cougs!

CR-You're saying that more alumni support him for HC than were supportive of Lavell when he was winning an NC and producing a Heisman winner? Okay

And every BYU HC gets endorsed by the brethren and president, otherwise they wouldn't be hired - "what makes this a good hire?" "Well, because we hired him." Circular.

95 percent of fans!? Amazing, you used an actual number! Too bad you pulled it straight out of your ass, and, according to you, numbers don't really mean anything anyway.

LaVell was a Utah State player who had never been head coach. Sitake is a BYU player who has never been head coach, but has been the assistant head coach at two PAC-12 schools, and has great recruiting ties. Point, Kalani.

So, we're only talking about at the point of hiring? So instead of saying "more alumni support than any coach in the last 50 years" we really should just be saying "he's the only alumnus who's been hired as HC since the 1930s." Because it's so important for the HC to be an alum? Because all our successful coaches have been alumni? Because Lavell needed to be an alum to win a national title? Hooray for BYU becoming the former players club where guys like Hans Olsen are treated like king $#!+ while our team does poorly on the field!

PS-You should end this quote with an ellipsis (...) not a period. What you've posted was not my entire statement and leaving off the rest without acknowledgement is disingenuous at best.

No, let's talk about Coach Sitake's entire career instead.

You're writing off next season already. You're writing off the new head coach already. I'm okay with having doubts, but pretending that you can see the future, and that the only possibility is abject failure, makes you Airwolf.

So, it's a good hire, then, because he COULD do really well or he COULD turn our program into a dumpster fire? Hell, we could've hired Urroner and that would still be true. We're supposed to give this a great grade because there's a chance, based on no real evidence, and in the face of all measurables, that Sitake will be a good HC just because? Yes, let's all get real excited about that. :sulk:

BYU could hire ANYONE and "he COULD do really well or he COULD turn our program into a dumpster fire." Coach Sitake has a resume that is comparable with both Lavell and Bronco at the time they were each hired. Who is the better alternative here? And how do you know that they were a realistic option?
