12-Pack on ESPN
I found this little gem on ESPN's website:
"Here's what we have so far for the Pac-12 2012 schedule for ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Classic and ESPN3.
Aug. 30 Washington State at BYU, 10: 15 pm, ESPN
Sept. 7 Utah at Utah State, 8 p.m., ESPN2
Sept. 8 USC at Syracuse, TBD, ABC, ESPN or ESPN2
Sept. 14 Washington State at UNLV, 9 p.m. ESPN
Not much, eh?
We won't know until June which games will be on ESPN, ABC, Fox or the Pac-12 Network...."
Like last year, Utah's best shot for a game on the national ESPN stage will NOT be in the PAC 12 schedule, but on the road IN UTAH, this time at Utah State. Their next best shot is probably when USC comes to SLC on Thursday, October 4 or when the Cougs visit Rice Chex on September 15.
All joking aside, I would not be surprised if most of the Ewetes PAC 12 games get lost in the shuffle. They might be broadcast locally, but forget anything with bigger exposure. They have to compete with and will likely get passed for Stanford v. Oregon, Oregon v. USC, UCLA v. Cal, Notre Dame v. USC, Oregon v. Oregon St, UCLA v. USC, Arizona St. v. USC, etc.
Meanwhile, BYU has the following games already on ESPN's national schedule in the first 5 weeks of the season (all times Eastern):
Aug. 30 Washington State at BYU, 10: 15 pm, ESPN
Sep. 20 BYU at Bois State, 9pm, ESPN
Sep. 28 Hawaii at BYU, 9pm, ESPN
Oct. 5 Utah State at BYU, 10:15pm, ESPN or ESPN2
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if BYU's game against Oregon State is also on ESPN or ESPN2. And, you can't beat the Notre Dame game on Saturday afternoon on NBC!
