Bronco seeking JC Safety

Post by Mars »

Because BYU safety Shiloah Te'o was kicked off the team for violating team rules earlier this month, the Cougars will most likely look at a junior college transfer to fill the void. "If we find one," Mendenhall said. "He has to be the right type of player."

Here are some safetys Bronco has already looked at, and mostly passed on:
Taumoelau Kaveinga (California), speed 4.5 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... inga-89362
Nick Okano (California), speed 4.52 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... kano-97958
Braden Anderson (Bingham, South Jordan, Utah), speed 4.53 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... rson-96139
Max Morgan (Colorado), 4.56, speed 4.56 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... gan-104061
Eric Shannon (Colorado), speed 4.56 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... non-102527
Cole Hermann (Alta, Sandy, Utah), http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... id=4242829

While those kids look pretty good, they are all HS players. I think Bronco is looking for someone to come in and start next year and the year after who is more D1 ready. Freshman very rarely are, and then the mission delays them playing even more. Hence, the pursuit through the JC ranks. Johnson graduates and Bills will most likely be on a mission. So a big hole to fill there.

do we have anyone coming back? we got rid of one, and two are leaving? Sounds like we need more than one.

we also saw what our defense was like without Johnson. I shudder to think about next year.

Rich is a Junior this year, so he will be back. And I think Bills leaves on a mission, so need someone to take Johnson's role next year. Not sure what RM's we have coming back in the secondary either. Just know that the corners we have are too small to switch over to safety for next year.

Who cares that the corners are too small. Lets go with 5 of them. Wait, we have already seen the 3-3-5.

165 lbs!? Ever heard of protein powder (or a cheeseburger or bbq ribs)?

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

If he's a midyear transfer, we will be 180 lbs by the start of next year's season.

My daughter goes to Cirtus JC. There are 2 different "IN-N-Out" Burger joints within 8 min. of the school. Also a Carl's Jr., El Pollo Loco, Grand Burger (a Mom & Pop place - GREAT food!), Taco Bell, etc.

Hey I will personally buy Lewis a double-double animal style every day (w/ a chocolate shake) if he commits to the Y. Come on!!!!!
:D :D
