Re: Pro Style Offense Questions
Despite that horrible scene on the field this year, I continue to believe that BYU's best potential to be a *real* contender is to play pro style, ball control offense. We can recruit offensive linemen and solid running backs and tight ends, solid pocket quarterbacks, and good-enough receivers. We ...

Re: Bronco Mendenhall's Virgina Cavaliers
BYU has not had a statistically worse first 4 game performance since the 1950s despite having faced a similar or tougher 4 game strength of schedule several times. There is no doubt or argument that this is the worst offense in the modern era of college football at BYU. The question is whether or n...

Re: BYU announces caffeinated beverages will be served on campus and at games
Put me in the category that thinks BYU should revise the honor code to remove the facial hair restrictions, and length of hair restrictions. Those are not based on eternal principles, like the rest of the honor code is...honesty, chastity, etc. I would retain the modest dress standard, because that ...

Re: BYU's offense compared to Wisconsin's Offense
Also, the cool part of this game is that will be what BYU's offense looks like in 2 - 3 years, if Detmer isn't chased out of town by the pitchfork armchair OC's before then. That's what I took from the game. As we were getting our butts kicked, I watched Wisconsin's offense to get a glimpse of what...

Re: 1-3 : A Guide to Not Hating Life
Hey, my son is a huge Bama fan, so y'all back off. I agree, though. Patience is needed. I saw some encouraging things from Hodge. If he hadn't made that boneheaded safety play at the end, and not thrown two picks, I think we would have the makings of a QB controversy. The difference is that Hodge is...

Re: Mangum Out 4-6 Weeks
I read somewhere that Kalani's policy is to only talk about injuries if they are season-ending. Mangum's out, but no one will say for how long since it is not season ending.

Re: Mangum Out 4-6 Weeks
Well, for what it is worth, Beau Hodge sells a great play action pass...not sure how much good it will do, though, since we can't really run the ball right now.

Re: Trevor Matich Tells It How It Is
I agree with Trevor. Magnum isn't making the reads yet. We can help him with some wrinkles to the offense, such as operating out of the shotgun and rolling out some more, but we should in no ways scrap the system. It will pay dividends in the long run once we build the pipeline with offensive linema...

Re: Scheduling and the Boise St model
Also, BSU has had a lot of players go to the NFL over the years. Their success wasn't just a dumbed-down schedule. They had a fantastic head coach and a lot of talent in the skill positions.
