Re: Yoeli Child's suspended for 9 games for paperwork snafu
"Paperwork snafu” = hiring an agent before notifying the NCAA that he was doing so, but wanted to leave the door open to return to college hoops. In a couple years, they'll be telling guys they have lost amateur status for your same "snafu"--he's lucky to be just missing 9 games. No,...

Re: Scehdule 2019-20
this is going to be a pretty challenging non-conference schedule, especially considering who we might face in Maui.

Re: Maui Invite
The non-conference schedule hasn't been released yet, but given some things Pope has said, I'm guessing it will be a pretty challenging one in general.

Re: Jimmer to Greece
The NBA probably wasn't going to happen given that he wasn't starting for his summer league team. Greece may have comparable money to China, but it's also definitely a step up in competition and prestige to China.

Re: School of the prophets?
Maybe a year ago my wife and I were reading some research by a group who was tracking activity of different churches throughout the world especially LDS. It was discomfiting but the few sources checked out. Essentially our church activity is diminishing despite baptisms including Central/South Amer...

Re: Clayton Young of BYU National Championship 10k in 29:16.60
BYU finished 1st, 3rd and 4th in the race and currently sit in 2nd place among all the teams (mens) because of it, with 21 points. Tomorrow they will likely pick up more points in the 3000M Steeplechase where they have 4 highly rated runners participating in the finals, along with the 5k and possibl...

Re: US bombs falling on Yemeni hospitals
Some care. The House and senate cared enough to pass a resolution against continued US military activity with S. Arabia because of it, but Mr. President vetoed it. It's one of only two vetoes Trump has issued. I think a lot of people would care if they knew about it. Saudi Arabia's royal family is a...

Re: Pope Scheduling Philosophy
Pope needs to worry about beating the teams in the WCC and then worry about out of conference scheduling. That was Roses downfall, not winning, or even taking second in the WCC because of losing to the dregs of the conference.....out of the blue. If BYU takes care of business in the WCC, they will ...

Re: Pope Scheduling Philosophy
Rose got beat up for a scheduling philosophy much much more conservative than this. We'll see how this works out with the fans (As for me - I love it - so there) It really only matters what the selection committee thinks, and they have been very consistent over the years in rewarding teams who go o...

Re: Richard Harward too?
Madsen has a tough job at UVU with so many transferring out. There are two others besides the three who are going to BYU. But they are also getting a couple coming in from Weber State.
