Re: First NET Rankings Out
I've been very busy, lately. We're young, but good. We're not great, at least not yet. Emery helps, a lot. He's like Hardnett but can actually shoot, with better vision, and plays much better defense. The team is still figuring out personnel (who plays where, how much) and missing open shots. The b...

Re: Nick Emery returned against Utah State
the team has been a real mental funk over the last few games and lacking confidence. Emery's return seemed to make the whole team play at a higher level. Also, Harding is emerging as a player who can really help this year.

Re: Cougs vs. Utes
Utah's defense is actually far worse than ours according to the stat gurus. They gave up 90 points in a loss to Hawaii, for example. Pomeroy has their defense ranked #178, which is incredibly bad for a team from a major conference. Pomeroy looks at points by possession to control for pace of the gam...

Re: First NET Rankings Out
No starting point makes it not very useful this early in the season. LMU a top 10 team? Sweet.

Re: You might be missing out
This team isn't that good. Today's game against Houston showed that. Just two guys on our team can score. Nixon, love his hustle, can't score. Seljaas, doesn't belong in the court. Baxter, can't score. Lee, can't score. Worthington, can't score. Hardnett can't hit a shot from the outside if his lif...

Re: Soccer 2018
They lost 3-0 to Santa Clara earlier this season, which is interesting. They've played several good teams.
In the Bennett ranking system they are #23 and we are #20, FWIW.

If we go 28-3 and don't make the tournament I consider that a failure. 25-6 would make the tournament. But I agree getting there is the measuring stick for whether the team has accomplished what they need to this year. I realize your 28-3 example is probably rhetorical, but not making the tournamen...

And ESPN's BPI projects BYU to go 25-6. Yes, we may not do that well. But on the other hand this shows there are actually some objective measures out there that are less gloom and doom than we tend to read on the BYU fan boards. Let's just sit back and watch and enjoy each game for what it is. I thi...

I think we'll be 5-1 going into the Houston game, 9-1 or 8-2 going into the Utah game, 12-3 or 11-4 going into the conference schedule. We'll see how that pans out.
