Max Hall: Driving the SLC Economy

Just saw a woman in my building wearing a bright crimson T-shirt that reads: "MAX HALL HATES ME!" My first thought was that Max has the SLC Economy at heart. How many of those shirts will sell? 10,000? 100,000? 500,000? Without his comments, that shirt never gets made, let alone sold! Go M...

Re: Warning: This post is total rumor mongering...

I think someone (and by someone, I mean a person smarter than I) should conduct an analysis of the inane prattle that occurs when there's no game the next week (BYE week, after the season, pre-bowl, etc.) I bet someone with time on their hands could have a really interesting time identifying the tre...

Comcast-GE Joint Venture

I considered posting this elsewhere, but in my mind, the impact really is for football. The following came across my ticker this morning, and I know the impact of a Comcast (Versus Network) and GE (NBC Universal/NBC Sports) competitor to ESPN has been discussed on this board. LONDON (MarketWatch) --...

My Yewtard Experience this Week

Story starts in July when thru a realignment at work, I inherited a new customer. In the transition process, my colleague introduced me to the customer as a BYU grad. Immediately, one of the guys start needling me and lets me know he's a :utard: and a "big-time fan!" About twice a week he ...

Re: So I have a question

never banned, though posting less and less as the inanity becomes more pervasive. I have considered testing the mods by posting ID10T repeatedly after stupid posts, but I just haven't been there much since I read a Mars post mentioning Kiwi's banishment and presence here. Somehow it just doesn't see...

Re: Could you imagine this possibility?

It is BYU, and Bronco did not get to pick his staff. I guarantee that they will not replace anyone, unless they leave on their own. BYU does not fire coaches. I can think of one assistant ever let go at BYU and it was Schmidt to hire Bronco. Oh wait sorry--he retired....Otherwise, it just does not ...

Re: Matt Bauman Transferring to Stanford

From Coach Tidwell: "Some [football players] are smart in the classroom but can't bring it to football," BYU linebackers coach Paul Tidwell said. "Then there are football players who aren't smart in the classroom. Matt's both. Not a very well-constructed sentence; my first reading wa...

Re: Austin Collie - Indianapolis Colts

I was in beautiful nad scenic Elko, NV yesterday. I grabbed my complimentary USA Today and read while I ate breakfast... in the sports section there was a section called "Studs, Duds and Sleepers" offering help with Fantasy picks, pick-ups and dumps. At the top of the section is a picture ...

Re: College Game Day - Play-by-play

A couple clowns show up with a huge BSU flag and a tiny Utah flag. All in good fun, I guess. A friend of mine in Nebraska asked me to find out something about the Wazzou guy with the flag at every Gameday. I walked right up and started talking to them: WSU has a strong alumni network. As soon as th...
