Re: Polls

Yes, but that was OSU's only loss and they'd been at the top nationally in a few offensive categories. OSU has had Mannion putting up crazy number but Byu's offensive number haven't been bad either. TH's rushing #'s and a nationally televised rushing beat down on Texas to me is greater than mannion...

Re: Bad news for Ogletree, Craigo, and for us

His analysis was by far the best free content out there on BYU.

I have no idea how he compares with pay sites. And I doubt I'll ever find out.

Re: Polls

Yes, but that was OSU's only loss and they'd been at the top nationally in a few offensive categories. If BYU had beaten either UVA or Utah, they'd be ranked. But the UVA loss hurts worse. I think pollsters would look at Utah and say 'hey, they also beat a top-ranked Stanford team; Utah has the abil...

Re: Rising tides

And he has the smarts to do it. Very heady kid. Still learning, but clearly bright. As long as he commits to learning and not thinking he has it down or can coast on skill and past accomplishments, he could be very good. Still puts too much zip when he has a hard-charging defender coming down on him...

Re: Does Anae read CC?

Or a shovel pass? I think you're on to something.

I think Anae did a great job calling the 1st quarter. He's slower adjusting to adjustments.

Re: Boise State Prediction Thread

Just like last year: The team that scores the most points on defense & ST wins. Tie goes to the home team.

I'm taking BYU. A rivalry game without the overreaching we do against Utah gets us this one. The win gets us just outside the Top 25. The bye next week moves us back down.

Re: Poll - Who Out Coached Whom?

Both the Houston DC and BYU OC made adjustments but were slow to make them. When they did, they generally worked. It was the slow moving arc of the lightning-fast sidewalk chess match. Both sides made a lot of noise but were slow to recognize what the other was doing. That to me says "tie."...

Re: Watch the Houston game again and ask yourself...

I'm missing Manase Tonga. Actually, the backfield duo of him and Fui was one of the most exciting and lethal we've ever had. But Beck hitting Manase out of the backfield was money almost every single time. Anae 1.0 made his name by converting 3rd and shorts--and the short pass was a big reason why. ...

Re: is this a Fan site, or a Whiner site?

It was a pass play in the 1st Q. Went for a nice gain of a 1st down, called back. The hold was on the center; pretty blatant after he got beat. Can't remember who the center or receiver were at the time, just remember we were starting to build some momentum and this killed it.
