Re: Key freshmen returning, no mission plans
Holker probably looked around, realized he would be fighting for time with Bushman for the next two years, and that a mission would give him an opportunity to come back with a clearer path to more playing time and have a better idea of the direction of the programs to determine if he wants to give ...

Time to split up FBS
Rather than try to figure out a system for 130 programs. There should be a premiere division of college athletics, and there should be a tournament division. In my opinion, there are really only 19 programs that can realistically win a national title in the current system when you consider a combina...

Re: There is no parity in College football
BYU took some deals like this as well and now Tom Holmoe is under fire for terrible scheduling. The math of 2-1 doesn’t work out. Sure they could take one with Florida, but are they expected to do this with any major team they try to schedule? Is UCF supposed to play 4 or 5 home games and 7 to 8 aw...

Re: Is the board too Optimistic/Pessimistic?
We seem to struggle to remember the ugly parts of our past which makes way too optimistic about our future and way too pessimistic about the present. For example, Kalani is a terrible coach because he only won 7 games while the previous coach won no less than 8 games as an independent. Yet Kalani ma...

Re: There is no parity in College football
I sometimes find it ironic that in the U.S. where in general we have a capitalist economy we love our sports teams to have "parity" or a sort of forced socialism/communism (see NFL/NBA, MLS, etc), yet in Europe where socialism is very big they love their soccer leagues to have more of a c...

Re: Recent Holmoe quote
I realize that pointing out any positive thing that BYU does in a loss to Utah just won't go over well with BYU fans, but speaking for myself I felt encouraged after this Utah loss. We did so many things uncharacteristically well in that game. From 2011-2017, our offense has been on the field with t...

Re: Will we get an 8 team playoff soon?
I'm fine with the current system. I'll be fine with an 8 team playoff. Top 6 conference champs and 2 at large is fine with me. Home games for the top 4 seeds the week after CCGs are played. Then the current CFP/NY6 structure plays out. I don't think BYU should just join a conference because of a be...
