Re: The QB Poll

I voted for Heaps because thus far Nelson has not done much, if anything, to separate himself from Heaps. I fully believe BYU coaches would love to start Nelson which would allow them to RS Heaps. An RS will allow Heaps to further mature and develop physically while he learns over the next two years...

Re: Lose another lineman = No Spring Game??

There wasn't going to be a spring game anyway. But anyone else concerned that this is at least the third ACL surgery for Famika. I don't think we'll ever see him in Cougar blue.

Re: Chambers not at Practice for Academic Reasons

Since he's back, i took it mean he needed a paper or another assignment to turn it. It has since been turned in. Sounded to me like more of a late assignment or test to be taken than a more serious academic issue (i.e., failing a class). In the past, when we've heard of academic issues with a player...

Re: Your 2010-2011 BYU Cougars

I would still love BYU to become a zone defensive team. We need to become different to prepare for. Our zone has been both very effective at times and not as effective, but I think that if we practiced it more, we could become more adept at it (i.e., closing out on shooter) that we currently are.

Re: Now on to the football tab for a while?

Problem with spring football is the relative dearth of information. A few blog posts of some vague observation and meaningless stats don't give much to discuss. During the fall, practices have been open, fans could actually see what's going on and games are seeing by fans. There are real stats to di...

Kansas State's Coach

Wow, what an intimidating and imposing figure. I don't think I could play/cheer for a guy who treats his players like he does. Extremely verbally abusive.

Wouldn't surprise me one iota if a Bobby Knight-esque tape appears in the relatively near future.

Re: Up close perspective

Oh, one more thing, as good of defense as KSU played on Jimmer, I thought their better defensive performance was on our role players. JT, Jackson and Haws got all of zero open looks after KSU's first time out.

Re: Up close perspective

My perspective while watching on TV in Orem. - Kansas St was just flat out better than we were. - Kansas St plays similar to SDSU where offensive rebounding is a huge part of their offense, but unlike SDSU they actually have the players who can actually hit outside shots. - Rose and BYU need to find...
