Re: There are no smart gun laws

My real point is there is more data that privatizing education will decrease school violence than there is that enacting any gun laws will decrease violence at schools. It is simple fact that less violence occurs at private schools - there are fewer fights, less bullying, fewer gang members, fewer ...

Re: Smart gun laws

I'm surprised no one had any thoughts on my two posts on the topic. You guys hurt my feelings! It's like I don't even matter here anymore. :sulk: :sulk: :sulk: So here were my two posts: We need individualized solutions not blanket restrictions on everyone. One proposal I heard was a "gun violence r...

Re: Utahns, how excited are you about Mitt Romney

Donald Trump has endorsed Mitt Romney, so now all you Trump supporters have to support Mitt or you're not making America great. And all you Trump haters will have to eat your hyper-criticisms of Trump's commitment to being conservative. The Heritage Foundation says Trump is more conservative than, ...

Re: Utahns, how excited are you about Mitt Romney

Mitt accepting Trump's endorsement may be his worst flip-flop to date. He didn't "accept" it. Read what he said. He thanked Trump. He was gracious. It is a slight difference, but still fairly significant. I'd rather Romney in government to help act as a check on Trump than out of it. DC could use m...

Re: Kalani Trying to be More Like Bronco

It is very tough to change a culture once created. The one thing KS has going for him in this instance is that it's easier when you have something like last year's record to point to as an explanation as to WHY you're changing the culture. It's easier to say, "We sucked last year, so we have to mak...

Re: Smart gun laws

Here's also another practical step. Double or triple the number of teachers. This will greatly reduce the number of students for whom teachers are responsible. The students will greatly benefit from the smaller class sizes. They'll have a better chance of making friends. And students who struggle wi...

Re: Additional staff changes

I'd heard some disturbing things about how poor the recruiting was. Recruits weren't treated the same on visits. Were given visibly different treatments and amenities on the same trip. Contacts weren't followed up on. Recruits weren't regularly communicated with. Just a mess. Maybe Kalani has realiz...

Re: St. Mary's loses to USF

Head scratcher losses happen. The issue is when it happens more than once a season, which does seem to be the case for BYU. We have three bad losses on the season: LMU (rpi 281), Pacific (rpi 133), and UT Arlington (rpi 160). Our other loses on the season, SMC (rpi 35) twice, GU (rpi 38), and Alaba...
