The Alliance

The Athletic reports that the AAC, Big Ten, and PAC 12 have reached an agreement and they might make an announcement, as early as next week. There has been much speculation as to the nature of their collaboration. These are just a few of the possibilities. A scheduling agreement. Implemented has tea...

Navigate Research, the consulting firm that advises pro and college leagues on media rights, thinks that the new format could bring in as much as $2B in total annual revenue. Everyone will become richer but especially the P5 conferences. Projections for each of them is to receive upward of $300M ann...

Re: Holmoe on BYU Sports Radio 7/20/20

He said that he G5 were waiting to see if the other P5 conferences shortened their season. If they do, the G5 will be affected and would react accordingly. As for CFP, Hancock has said that the committee accommodate the conferences and take into consideration if the conferences have unbalanced sched...

Re: Eliminating non-conference games in 2020?

I don’t think this will happen. I think canceling entire weeks of the season and living with unbalanced conference schedules is more likely. But I’m not sure there will be any season at all. Re: Utah Drops BYU in 22/23

This will likely happen again. Power conference teams are making an effort to schedule more power conference teams for their OOC games.

In a few years, most P5s will be playing 10 power conference games, and in some cases, more.

The BIG 12 recently expanded their ESPN contract to include ESPN+. I think all future ESPN contracts will include content for ESPN+.

CFP 2018-19 distribution by conference.

Per school (in parentheses) assumes that conference HQs take a full share. Bowl payouts, outside of CFP and NY6, are not included. The $2.2M per participant in the NC, semis, and NY6 are included.
