Re: The WAC?!!

Why do I get the feeling that BYU ends up in the WAC for 2011 and 2012, and perhaps beyond? The WAC sure is acting like it is going to enforce its agreement against its members for the $5M buyout, but that only works if BYU joins by September 1. Also, those schools (Nevada, FSU) can't leave until a...

Re: Air Force

Previous BYU AD's said no to independence also. Previous P10 commish and P10 Chancellors said no way they'd ever expand. Hair Thompson said no more teams after Boise State. Fresno State and Nevada Presidents committed to the WAC days before defecting. People change their minds all the time. With pre...

Re: Air Force

AFA has openly expressed a desire to go indy When? Link? AFA has a history of gripes with being a MWC member. First is the lack of flexibility with their schedule. Second is bowl tie-ins http://gazetteafasports.blogspot.com/2008/05/more-congressional-bowl-thoughts.html" onclick="window.op...

Air Force

AFA has openly expressed a desire to go indy even before the MWC lost Utah (and BYU). AFA and BYU have a tight bond. There are reports out of Houston BYU and AFA were the only two schools pushing for USU in the MWC if BYU wanted to stay. Seems to me AFA would jump ship and move it's mini sports to t...

BXII Commissioner's answer to BYU and Sunday play.

Below is some of the correspondence I've had via e-mail with B12 Commish Dan Beebe regarding their stance on Sunday play. From the wording in his first responses (not posted) it read as if he is a bit annoyed with this question and topic. So please don't send him any emails expressing your style of ...

Re: Could BYU sign a BCS contract if . .

pretty sure if you leave MWC in one sport, you leave in all. No, choosing which sports you want in and which ones you want out. Someone Correct me if I'm wrong. True. Better answer is CURRENTLY true. I'm confident if TCU and Utah left the MWC, the MWC would do anything to retain BYU athletics. BYU ...

Could BYU sign a BCS contract if . .

they went Independent ? BYU will likely be left out in the cold during this conference re-alignment period. Without getting too detailed, I've had a few email replies from BXII conference commish Beebe and the Sunday rule will not change. Therefore, if CU and Utah go to the P10, TCU will probably le...

Re: A credible Utah news organization is

I think its funny people keep bringing up BYU dropping their sports like BYU-Idaho. I attend BYU-Idaho and there is zero school spirit. It would be a horrible idea for BYU to drop their sports. There is a huge rift between BYUI and the city of Rexburg, I see the same thing happening to Provo, and B...

A credible Utah news organization is

reporting Utah is leaving the MWC. Is this cougarcorner discussion worthy ? http://www.abc4.com/content/news/top%20stories/story/Utah-to-the-PAC-10-Not-BYU-It-could-happen/gpbSMZcBykqmrzztzmff7Q.cspx "sources are telling ABC 4 Sports that Utah will be invited to join the PAC 10 conference, but ...
