Re: Hans Olsen on past players

Anyone else a bit lost? EXEMPLIFY transitive verb 1: to show or illustrate by example <anecdotes exemplifying those virtues> 2: to make an attested copy or transcript of (a document) under seal 3a : to be an instance of or serve as an example of : embody <she exemplifies the qualities of a good lea...

Re: It appears we have locker room issues

For the umpteenth year in a row. http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=13220978" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I thought the whole idea of getting guys that "recruit BYU" and are RM, etc is so we don't have these kinds of issues, because they are a mor...

Re: Hans Olsen on past players

Not a single player who has played under Bronco has ever even hinted that Bronco isn't the best coach for this team or that he acts like a bishop or mission president. These are fan fantasies. Not true, I personally know players that are not big fans of his. They are nice and have some positive thi...

Re: Hans Olsen on past players

Hawk, Why come out? Why would former players recently removed from the program come out? It is not that they dislike him and need to be whistleblowers but I can tell you for a fact there are players that were not big fans, they did not hate him but never had a relationship with him. They way Bronco...

Re: Hans Olsen on past players

The 1996 team was pretty decent. I think the winning percentage under LaVell, most years, as with Bronco and other coaches is strongly influenced by SOS. After 1984, BYU started scheduling a few more big boys and that had an effect. Obviously there were also rebuilding years mixed in there, too. Fan...

Re: BYU's biggest deficiency and liability: Coach Kaufusi

There is a ton of technique involved which has been explained and demonstrated on AFR. That is why it has been more about inexperience than talent. Fua has been out injured or playing injured, so even that experience has not fully been there to help. Even Kaufusi and Bills had significant mistakes V...

Re: BYU's biggest deficiency and liability: Coach Kaufusi

I really believe we've missed the boat here thinking the D-lineman and D-Line coach are to blame. My biggest worry before the season(and I mentioned it here) was linebacker. The linebackers IMO are the biggest problem with this defense. SOOO many good LB's graduated last year and we had very few ex...

Re: BYU's biggest deficiency and liability: Coach Kaufusi

The last great assistant coach at BYU was probably the OL coach that preceded Weber. What was his name? Jeff Grimes. Currently OL coach and run-game coordinator in the SEC with LSU. Rumored to be the top paid OL coach in the country. Grimes was a carry-over from Crowton. Yes. Grimes. Highly respect...

Re: BYU's biggest deficiency and liability: Coach Kaufusi

When Anae relied on Williams, Hine, Brown, and our Rugby playing fullback, Williams sprained both ankles whole hobbling around on a sprained knee after he got off suspension. JW, rated himself at 85% yesterday. Hine got a high ankle sprain. He has been out a few weeks, but is expected back Vs MTSU. ...

Re: BYU's biggest deficiency and liability: Coach Kaufusi

They do not have great assistant coaches now. You're including Anae, right? Yes. Until he becomes a hot head coaching candidate or someone I view as the best next BYU HC, I would go with good not great. I still think he might be the best realistically available OC for BYU at this time. [ Post made ...
