Re: Mark Pope by the Numbers
Pope did not do well as well as he needed to do in the portal. We needed a big man. Full stop. While Atiki and Fous made progress, they are still works in progress. Coaching cost us several games—the failures repeatedly to handle out of bounds and full court pressure come to mind. The failure to set...

Re: 2022-23 Season
The team never quit on themselves or Pope. Some off season hopes: Atiki learns how to score around the basket and can keep his feet when he rebounds. Pope gets a real center. Saunders ups his three point shooting. Hall too. Actually Pope gets two centers. Hall ups his free throw shooting. If Waterma...

Re: 2022-23 Season
People aren’t going to like looking for moral victories, but we are two points from having beaten both SM and The Zags and in both of those games it took clutch shots of the opposing team to win it and at least with regards to the SM game to play as they did without our two largest players…..well ha...

My Hat
At the beginning of the year, I wore a beat up BYU hat when I watched a FB game on TV. After the Baylor game I was persuaded, probably by deep under cover Ute fans, to jettison my hat for a new, much better looking BYU hat. That of course was right about when our rough spot began. By the BSU game I ...

Re: 2022-23 Season
What a turn around! A very good win. What jumped out especially for me was the defensive effort and the rebounding. I suppose the team will work on breaking full court presses next week :). Williams played like a leader. Second half Saunders was a jolt of needed energy. And Stewart’s defense was rea...

Re: Players in the transfer portal
When a team captain bails, when the heir apparent QB bails, when a budding TE bails, when a freshman all American OLineman bails, and all as BYU heads to the Big 12, well, something is rotten in Denmark.

Re: 2022-23 Season
The UVU game was p[ainful to watch. Painful. Does this team have an offensive scheme? Do they even have set plays? And who coaches defense? Anyone? Of course making shots would help too. This may be the worst team I have seen at BYU in a long , long time.

Re: Utah Tech
Some good and some bad in this game to review, but one moment has me flabbergasted; near the end of the game, we are up comfortably and the call is for Hall on a QB draw?!?!? Inexcusable play call.

Re: 2022-23 Season
Clutch shot by Hall for the win. Can’t figure out why the game was so close. We shot better, rebounded more, fouled less, made more free throws, and had 9 blocks. Two banked in threes (!!) for the other team might have helped some. 55% free throw shooting didn’t help us much either. We only had thre...

Re: 2022-23 Season
With as many turnovers, as this team had, I was amazed the score was as close as it was. Johnson played outstanding. Williams and Hall collectively had 12 turnovers! Hard to win a game when your point guards do that. I was disappointed we could not defend the rim and how many second chance points Sa...
