Re: St. Mary's loses to USF

San Diego is another bad loss. RPI 163.

We lost a chance at an at-large bid when we lost to Pacific, so it's still win the WCC tourney or bust, but 4 losses to teams with an RPI of more than 100 is bad.

At least we beat Utah. That's more that can be said of the football team.

Re: Additional staff changes

If Kalani wants to keep his job, which I assume he does, he can't afford another 2017-like season. Big changes needed to happen or he will be out of a job. If he makes all these changes and we repeat 2017, he's out. He has no scapegoats. He would have overhauled his staff and still under-performed.

Re: 2018 QB Preview

Probably was a combination of things as opposed to a single variable.

Bad OL. Lousy WRs. Lack of confidence.

New year. New coach. Hopefully we see a new Tanner.

Re: More kudos for the BYU coaches wives

That's awesome. I like Marty. I hope he lands somewhere. Would be a good assistant at a bigger program.

Re: St. Mary's loses to USF

Head scratcher losses happen. The issue is when it happens more than once a season, which does seem to be the case for BYU. We have three bad losses on the season: LMU (rpi 281), Pacific (rpi 133), and UT Arlington (rpi 160). Our other loses on the season, SMC (rpi 35) twice, GU (rpi 38), and Alabam...

Re: Pepperdine

Pepperdine has some good athletes. They've had a lot of close games this season. Their game approach was to drive to the basketball and take us off the dribble. BYU struggles a bit with defending that. We tried to force a lot of passes, which led to turnovers. I've noticed this over the last few gam...

Re: Pepperdine

No doubt. It builds confidence and experience.

The OT against SMC was a disaster. USF and Pepperdine aren't SMC, but it's nice to see we have our wits about us now in OT. That wasn't there before.

Pepperdine

Phew...another nail biter. Not sure I can handle anymore OT games.

A win is a win, so I'll take it.

Re: Kalani Trying to be More Like Bronco

interesting take. My first mission president was very relaxed (and he was lifelong military type), but he expected us to go out, work and be diligent. But he wasn't a disciplinarian. We all loved him so much that we did what we were supposed to out of respect for him. No one wanted to let him down....

Re: Kalani Trying to be More Like Bronco

My first mission president was a disciplinary. He played by the rules. Nothing extra, but he made sure we stuck to was written in the white bible. The mission was successful, but as with all groups, especially 20 year olds, there were many that complained about his rigidness. My second mission presi...
