What are your thoughts? When you are behind, especially by 2+ scores late in the game, your offensive philosophy moves away from the short middle of the field and downfield and towards the sidelines where 1st downs, running out of bounds, and incompletions stop the clock. When you are ahead, especi...

Re: Hall or Romney?
Hall completed 3 passes of 45 yards or longer in the Baylor game. Romney, who is an excellent long throw QB has never done that, in fact, only a handful of QBs at BYU ever have. LOL. How many games has Romney played in where (a) the run game was absolutely ineffective, and (b) BYU was playing from ...

Feelings
Just got back from Waco late last night. While half of my kids were wearing Baylor gear at the game (I did post-grad at Baylor), rest assured we were all cheering for the Cougs--pre-teen girls were just excited to wear their new outfits. Thinking about it on the flight last night, and this season is...

Re: Hall or Romney?
Don't even get me started on the defense. Defense wasn't the primary culprit today, but boy were they frustrating to watch. There was a 3rd and 2 on Boise's last FG drive where BSU lined up with 3 receivers tripped to the right. BYU shifted three over to cover, but they were all 5+ yards off the LO...

Re: Hall or Romney?
Well, we got to see a lot of receivers having to stop and wait on deep balls or come back to underthrown balls tonight. I think one deep ball was thrown to where a receiver could catch in stride. We also saw the coaches trying to keep Hall safe in a pocket. If that's the new game plan -- keep Hall a...

Re: Hall and Romney both available as of right now
FWIW, it was accidentally mentioned by a coach at the Cougar Club lunch that Jaren was back practicing with the team this week -- Chad Lewis then interrupted and reminded "the audience" (i.e., really the coach) that BYU does not discuss individual player health or injuries.

Re: Hall or Romney?
I'm happy and confident with either. But the offense looks much more explosive with Romney's deep-ball precision. Hall just doesn't have that third-level accuracy to really stretch a defense vertically the way Romney does. Probably helps that Romney has played 2 of the weaker opponents You're forge...

Re: Hall and Romney both available as of right now
Romney hasn't been ruled "in" yet either. With concussion protocol, I believe the soonest he would be available for full-contact is Friday.
