I'm pretty sure Frazier is an OLB not an MLB. Plus, Bronco mentioned that he's cross-trained Ogletree and Leung-Wai at Buck so that he can give Stout and Jorgensen a chance to try out at Mike where he thinks they could really shine. And Frazier played all spring at SLB where Pendleton is going to return to. So I anticipate that Frazier we'll either get moved over to WLB or will back up Pendleton. Van Noy is going to be good for us but may not start right away. I could see Bronco even starting Frazier specifically over Kyle just to make him work want it more and work a little harder. Frazier has definitely been a nice surprise this spring, especially given the lack of experience coming into the spring.

Don't be surprised if you see Van Noy and Frazier alternating starts similar to what Pendleton and Grant Nelson did at the beginning of last season.

The last day of Spring practice Kyle Van Noy was credited w/ a whistled sack. He's coming along just fine - Kyle will be a solid contributor.

Frazier is playing MLB. Van Noy is on the outside, where Clawson played last year. So Frazier is taking one of the spots left open by the departures of Bauman, Doman and Hooks. Sounds as if the 4 guys in those spots this year will be Ogletree, Frazier, Leng-Wei and Stout. Frazier is a converted WR, so the guy has speed, just needs more weight for that position. My wife's brother served with him in Montreal and says he is a stud. He is just like Kehl/Van Noy in ethnicity, and has good speed for the position. If he bulks up to 230-240, with his speed, he could be really good at the position.

Like I said, we will have much more speed in the LB core this year, just need more weight with a few guys and some experience to help them.

That's what I'm trying to figure out, cause here's what Bronco said about him after practice, “Jameson Frazier, if you are looking for some of the biggest surprises, I would list him as maybe the biggest surprise. He went from maybe a special teams contributor to possibly a starter through the spring. And not one that is getting it by default. He has really played well.”

I don't really know why that's all that interesting. The same could be said about any number of freshmen on every campus in the country. For some it's easier than others but there's always some adaptation that is required.

Here's what Bronco had to say about Van Noy after the final spring practice, "Kyle Van Noy is learning a lot about our system and about how hard he is expected to play. He certainly has the potential, his biggest work in progress is adapting to the culture and the demand.”

...And there are rumors that he may not go on a mission at all. But obviously each of these kids still has plenty of time decide if they are going to serve or not.

He is slated as a starter on the latest depth chart. So is Bryson. And there is a chance Stout might earn a spot as well. We could have 3 freshman starting on D for us next year. Lucky for us they are all super talented.
I thought Zac Stout was going on a mission before he played ball at BYU???

He will enroll in the Fall. From what I have read, the coaches want to give him a good look and he may play this season for us because of our lack of depth/experience at the position.
