Whenever people tell me BYU needs to be in a conference -- any conference -- over independence. I just have to look at the hoops team to know they are wrong.

Well Pacific's rpi just took another jump after beating SD.

The WCC has 3 top 100 teams, 3 100-200, 2 200-300 and 2 300+ teams. Conference ranked 13.

Thanks - that clarifies everything for me. It's not the coach or the players - its the "program." And the Pacific "program" happens to be awful. And we should "Never" lose to this "awful" "program". and the word "never" here means we should never ever ever have lost to them at any point in either the past history (even though we're currently 9-6 all time against them) or the eternal future. Got it. This has been a productive discussion.

When Pacific is ranked 150 points behind BYU, BYU has no business losing to them on any court.
If/When pacific is ranked ahead of BYU, BYU should still spank them.

Pacific's RPI is 163. We should never lose to teams with RPIs over 150.

a 2 loss BYU team should never lose to a 10 loss team, whether the name of the team is Pacific or Gonzaga or Kentucky. It makes no difference. Good teams should never lose to teams like that. BYU used to never lose to these types of teams back when we were in the MWC and all of a sudden we make a bad habit out of losing to 2 or 3 of them every year. I'm personally sick of it.
