We now know what the NCAA is replacing RPI with: NET or NCAA Evaluation Tool.
NET will take into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, offensive and defensive efficiency and the quality of wins and losses.

The system won't give more weight to games late in the season, instead omitting game date and order from the data. It also caps the winning margin at 10 points to discourage teams from running up the score.

The quadrant system used on last season's NCAA tournament team sheets is still in place, with NET replacing RPI as the sorting tool. Team sheets will also still include other metrics, including ESPN's BPI and Strength of Record, as well as those from Kevin Pauga, Ken Pomeroy and Jeff Sagarin
There are actually a lot of things in there that do not favor the so-called P5.

Namely:
Late season games don't count more than the early ones. That favors the NON-power conference teams who schedule well in the non-conference. When a non-power conference team wins against a good non-conference opponent in November or December it makes it impossible to write off or discount those games or find excuses for it, as was the tendency to do before.

Emphasis on road games clearly favors teams that have to go on the road to face good competition, like us this year.

10 point cap on margin of error probably favors more the non-power teams as a powerhouse crushing a weakling at home won't make up for the hit to their non-conference SOS. The committee was doing it already, but a major conference team that is mediocre in their own league and plays no one good in the non-conference is going to find themselves out of the field.

Could this potentially push some schools to play in the Marriott center since a win there would most likely be a pretty good resume builder with the new format?
Only if we're in the top 75...

Does this skew the entire process towards the P5 conferences?
Wondering the same thing.
