Mika Tafua 4 star
Kieffer Longson 4 Star
Chaz Ah You 4 Star (mission?)
Langi Tuifua 4 star
Uriah Leiatua 4 star
Matt Bushman 3 star
Tico Fuga 3 star
Keanu Saleapaga 3 star
Kody Wilstead 3 star
Will Sedgewick 3 star
David Lui 3 star
Wayne Kirby 3 star
Ula Tolutau 3 star
Garrett England 3 star
Austin Lee 3 star
Ammon Hanneman 3 star
Tariq Buccannon 3 star
Keenon Ellis 3 star
Mango Finau 3 star
D'angelo Gunter 3 star
Khyriis Tonga 3 star
AJ Lolohea 2 star
Joe Tukuafu 2 star
Earl Mariner 2 star
Joe Critchlow 2 star
Mo Langi 0 star
JC Transfer John Vaka 3 star

Where would this class rank? with 5 4 stars and 16 3 star and 4 2 star plus a JC 3 star transfer would put us in the top 40. Looking at scout I would put it about 37 or on par of TCU.

Note Big12 did not sign a 5 star recruit.

wow. What is BYU's average recruiting ranking? 78 seems lowish.
BYUs recruiting ranking is low, and it is legitimate for now. It's for a couple of reasons"

1) We are seeing a shift in recruiting philosophy. Bronco would wrap up his recruiting early and not wait for higher profile guys to decide at the end of the recruiting season. Kalani is waiting. However, we have a good shot at guys like Ah You, Tuifua, Tofa, Watson, and Hola. We get these guys and our ranking will improve. Right now, most of our commits are 2* on Scout. That's in line with #78.

2) We are getting a lot of transfers. This is still recruiting, to some extent, and builds talent on our roster, but it is not reflected in our recruiting rankings. It feels as if there is a reset going on with guys currently on missions that now want to come to BYU after their missions. This happens every year, but seems to be happening more now with a new coach. I doubt we continue to see these numbers after the next year or two.

Utah's seems low as well... but I don't follow recruiting that much.
Utah is low too, also for legitimate reasons. They will be signing a smaller number of recruits this year. I don't follow their recruiting, so I don't know why. But volume is factored into these rankings.

Scout: Utah 53 tie w/TCU, BYU 76 (right behind Navy @ 75
https://www.scout.com/college/football/ ... 14&yr=2017

ESPN has a team recruit ranking - but - it only goes to 40 unless you are an ESPN Insider subscriber.

However you look at it, BYU is having an "Ok" recruiting year - nothing sensational. Just look at the teams right in front of us. These are teams we would expect to beat.
69. Army (tie)
69. Toledo (tie)
71. South Florida
72. Houston (tie)
72. Navy (tie)
74. Colorado St. (tie)
74. SMU (tie)
74. Southern Miss (tie)
74. Wake Forest (tie)
78. BYU
79. Boise St.

Ah well ...... play ball.
